How we pick deals and write verdicts
An automated scanner finds deals; the rules below decide what gets listed and what verdict it gets. A person (Jessie) runs the site and reviews the rules.
What gets listed
- Free games: PC games that are free to keep on Steam, the Epic Games Store, GOG or Prime Gaming, only when we can confirm the end time.
- Sales: official stores only (Steam, GOG, Green Man Gaming, Humble, Fanatical, Epic). The price has to be at or within 10% of the all-time low in CheapShark's price history, and the game needs 80%+ positive Steam reviews or a Metacritic score of 75+.
- Never listed: grey-market key resellers.
What the verdicts mean
| Grab it | Sale: matches the all-time low and 90%+ positive from at least 1,000 Steam reviews. Free: 80%+ positive from at least 500 reviews. Shown as 5/5 in our structured data. |
|---|---|
| Probably | Sale: within 10% of the low and 80%+ positive, but missing one of the Grab it conditions. Free: 60–79% positive, or no reviews yet. Shown as 4/5. |
| Skip unless… | Under 80% positive on Steam (for sales) or under 60% (for free games). Fine if you already wanted it. Shown as 2/5. |
What the write-ups contain
Each “Our take” paragraph is built only from data we fetched: the price, regular price, discount, the all-time low and its date, Steam's positive-review percentage and review count, Metacritic where available, the store, and the end time. We don't invent playtime, story details or quotes. The opinion is ours: whether that adds up to a good buy.
Prices on Steam and GOG are re-checked live before listing. Prices on other stores are marked “not auto-verified.”
Prices checked Sun Oct 18, 1:06 PM MST. Prices and end times change fast: confirm on the store page before you buy.
